Chicago Latvian Community Center building has been sold!

On May 20, 2020, the building of the Chicago Latvian Association, 4146 N. Elston Ave., that has served our community for 62 years, was sold.  The building has been sold, but the Association will continue on.

The ethnic items from the association and the museum are now in a temperature-controlled storage area, along with the 6,000 books and periodicals from the library.

The building was purchased by young artists, who plan to convert it into an art/cultural center.  We wish them success!

What to do now?  First, we will take a breather, wait until the Corona virus crisis ends, and then go forward.  Let us all think about our future and how each of us can help further Latvian cultural activities in Chicago.

Chicago Latvian Association
